All fees will be charged in South African Rands (ZAR). Approximate US$ and € equivalents are given in brackets. These are based on rates of $1 = R8.85 and €1 = R11.70, but will vary as the exchange rates flucuate. To obtain the current exchange rates and to convert the ZAR amounts into your own currency [Euros (€), GBP (£), USD ($), etc] go to The Universal Currency Converter. Please note: the currency conversions are for your budgeting purposes only - all payments must be specified as the ZAR (R) amounts.

Conservation Fee: A daily conservation fee is levied on all visitors to the Kruger National Park. The total fee payable for the five days of the Workshop is:

a Includes admittance to all scientific sessions, the Book of Abstracts, all lunches and functions, but excludes breakfasts, dinners and the conservation fee which are itemized separately.

d Accommodation is available in small bungalows with 3 beds, equipped with en-suite bathrooms (showers, no baths) and air-conditioning. Kitchenettes have hotplates and sinks; large bungalows (family cottages) with 2 rooms (1 double bed, 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds in lounge) with separate shower, toilet and bath, units equipped with open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge and bedrooms are air-conditioned; and camping sites each site has a power point, ablution and kitchen facilities are shared. Please note: if you take the camping option, you must bring your own camping equipment (tent or caravan, bedding, etc) with you.
e Delegates choosing any of the shared accommodation options, may only do so if they indicate with whom they would like to share.
f A maximum of six people are allowed per camping site.
g Includes the use of the bus for early morning and late afternoon sightseeing trips (game drives) in the Park during the Workshop.
h At previous Indabas many delegates did not attend breakfasts and some preferred to make their own arrangements for the evening meals - braais (barbecues), etc; therefore these meals are now optional items. The five breakfasts (Monday to Friday) and/or the three dinners on the evenings when there are no functions (Monday to Wednesday) can be ordered and paid for in advance. Alternatively, there is a cafeteria and shop in the Berg-en-Dal Camp where food can be purchased. The bungalows all have kitchens and braai (barbecue) facilities.

The above fees are payable in full on or before 31 May 2009. For late payments the following surcharges will be levied:

Financial Support

A limited number of IUCr-sponsored bursaries will be available for students and other young scientists, who are invited to apply for support, preferably by e-mail, with the recommendation of a supervisor or a senior colleague, to the Secretariat (). A preliminary registration including an abstract title must first be submitted (see Registration) and your invoice number (automatically generated if the Excel registration form is used, or supplied by the Secretariat on recept of the preliminary registration) should be quoted on all correspondence. Any support granted will be conditional on the acceptance by the Organising Committee of the abstract submitted by the delegate (see Submission of Abstracts). The cut-off date for applications is 30 April 2009, but early application and submission of abstracts are encouraged for those delegates seeking support.

Payments

Upon registration, delegates will receive an invoice from the secretariat (or it will be generated as a component of the Excel registration file if you use that option - please use the Excel file registration if at all possible) with all the payment instructions. Direct deposits into the conference bank account or credit card payments will be accepted.
